Building a High Performing Team was the focus of inVantage’s session with the Waukesha County Business Alliance’s Leadership Waukesha County cohort. Leadership Waukesha County is a leadership development program that has been offered by the Waukesha County Business Alliance for over 30 years. This program provides tools and education to level-up participants’ leadership skills.
inVantage CEO, Kelly Renz, guided participants through three main components that set high performing teams apart, including: team lifecycle, the Five Dysfunctions of a Team, and team rhythms.
Team lifecycle focuses on the importance of knowing the maturity stage your team is experiencing: Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing and Adjourning. Did you know that most teams will toggle back and forth in the stages as team members are added or leave?
Participants used the Five Dysfunctions of a Team tool by Pinnacle Business Guides to assess their current team and discuss ideas of how to strengthen team cohesion.
Team rhythms taught participants that being a good leader also means running a good meeting and following a good meeting cadence: daily Stand Up’s, Weekly Tactical’s and Monthly Accountability.
We are proud to say that one of our inVantage clients, Jim Schneberger at New Berlin Plastics, is a co-facilitator at Leadership Waukesha County with us.
